The Professional Doctorate in Engineering (PDEng) programme Maintenance is very interesting for you. The PDEng programme is a 2-year post MSc technological programme with a focus on technological design. This programme at the University of Twente contains an educational part that will be followed at the University, and a design project that will be carried out at a company. The educational programme will have an in-depth and broadening character with ample attention for professional development and will be partly tailored to the design project.

In 2016 the European Patent Office plans to recruit more than 200 engineers and scientists to work as patent examiners.

The engineers and scientists - drawn from over 30 different European countries - work at the cutting edge of technology, examining the latest inventions in every technical field in order to protect and promote innovation in Europe. Their daily work combines scientific expertise with analytical research and an eye for the legal aspects of intellectual property.

Το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο δημοσιεύει την παρούσα πρόσκληση εκδήλωσης ενδιαφέροντος προκειμένου να συγκροτήσει μια βάση δεδομένων υποψηφίων που θα μπορούσαν να προσληφθούν ως συμβασιούχοι υπάλληλοι, ομάδα καθηκόντων I (ΟΚ Ι), Οδηγοί (Α/Γ).

Η βάση δεδομένων θα χρησιμοποιηθεί από το Ευρωπαϊκό Κοινοβούλιο. Οι θέσεις θα έχουν έδρα κυρίως στις Βρυξέλλες.

Ο αριθμός των διαθέσιμων θέσεων είναι 110 περίπου. Οι υποψήφιοι στους οποίους θα προσφερθεί θέση θα προσληφθούν σύμφωνα με τις διαδικασίες που περιγράφονται στον τίτλο IX της παρούσας πρόσκλησης εκδήλωσης ενδιαφέροντος.

Μόνο τα φωτοβολταϊκά στις στέγες μπορούν να παραγάγουν το 40% των ενεργειακών αναγκών στις ΗΠΑ.

Παρόλα αυτά, η ηλιακή ενέργεια έχει περιορισμούς με κυριότερο τη διαλείπουσα φύση της παραγωγής της: τα φωτοβολταϊκά δεν παράγουν ενέργεια ούτε το βράδυ ούτε όταν επικρατεί συννεφιά.

Το βράδυ δεν μπορεί να γίνει μέρα, αλλά ηλιακή ενέργεια μπορεί να παραχθεί ακόμα και όταν βρέχει υποστηρίζουν τέσσερεις κινέζοι επιστήμονες από τα πανεπιστήμια Yunnan Normal University και το Ocean University.

Στο μέλλον, θα μπορούμε όλοι να φοράμε «εξυπνους» φακούς επαφής με την νέα πατέντα της Samsung. Συγκεκριμένα η Νότια Κορέα χορήγησε πατέντα στην Samsung για φακούς επαφής με οθόνη που προβάλλουν εικόνες απευθείας στα μάτια του χρήστη.

Σύμφωνα με την έκθεση του SamMobile, η εταιρία ξεκίνησε την ανάπτυξη έξυπνων φακών επαφής ως μέσο για να δημιουργήσουν μια καλύτερη εμπειρία επαυξημένης πραγματικότητας, σαν αυτή που προσφέρουν τα Google Glasses.

Ερευνητές από τις ΗΠΑ και τη Νότια Κορέα κατασκεύασαν τα πρώτα τρανζίστορ εξ ολοκλήρου από υγρά «μελάνια» νανοκρυστάλλων. Το επίτευγμα ανοίγει το δρόμο για τη δημιουργία νέου τύπου ηλεκτρονικών εξαρτημάτων που θα μπορούν να ενσωματωθούν σε ποικίλες εύκαμπτες και φορέσιμες εφαρμογές.

Τα τρανζίστορ αποτελούν τον θεμελιώδη λίθο της βιομηχανίας ηλεκτρονικών και υπολογιστών, καθώς χάρη σε αυτά δημιουργούνται τα ηλεκτρονικά κυκλώματα, δηλαδή τα διάφορα «τσιπάκια» σε κάθε είδους συσκευές.

H κυματική ενέργεια αυτή τη στιγμή θεωρείται ως μια αναξιόπιστη τεχνολογία ανανεώσιμης ενέργειας με υψηλό κόστος ηλεκτροπαραγωγής και τεχνική αδυναμία κάλυψης ενεργειακών αναγκών σε μεγάλη κλίμακα.

Την κατάσταση αυτή φιλοδοξεί να αλλάξει η σουηδική εταιρεία με έναν σημειακό απορροφητή, κοινώς έναν σημαντήρα (buoy), που επιτυγχάνει εντυπωσιακά υψηλή αποδοτικότητα.

Ένας μόνο σημαντήρας έχει ισχύ 250 Κιλοβάτ μπορεί να παραγάγει ηλεκτρική ενέργεια επαρκή για την ηλεκτροδότηση 200 νοικοκυριών, οπότε οι δυνατότητες ενός ολόκληρου πάρκου είναι προφανείς.
